Commentary on the past

His photographs are known to the whole world. The pictures of the victory flag over Berlin and Victory Day parade became symbols of  World War II. They were printed in millions of copies, minted on gold coins and appeared in encyclopedias and schoollbooks. But only a few remember the name of the photographer. It is Evgeny Khaldei.

But Khaldei is not only about the war. Thousands of photographs from his archives can now be viewed by the public. Commentary on the Past - is also own commentary on famous and sometimes infamous pages of Soviet life and a portrait of the time.
